One of my favorite athletes that I came across during the 2023 season was Will Knock when I covered a Monona Grove game live. At the time, Will was a 190 lbs DE, but that didn’t stop him from being a menace in the backfield. Will continued that impact through the season and ended up leading the conference in sacks. Will is continuing to fill out that long frame and is now up to 200 lbs. It will be very intriguing to see how the added size helps his game. On tape Will is a long, twitchy, agile, flexible edge rusher. He gets out of his stance with a solid first step, but really puts the pressure on OTs when he uses those short area athletic strengths. Will is able to bend and play at body angles that make it hard to land punches on. Knoeck is also a nightmare for an OT to try and mirror when he uses that lateral movement. Will put together strong tape vs a couple FBS OT commits in 2023, so don’t sleep on this kid. He can be an impact at the next level.
