the past two years and rightfully so as one of the state’s best big men. He capped off an impressive high school career with a great senior season that finished with a state championship ring with possible accolades coming his way soon. We’ve consistently labeled Brown Jr as an FCS prospect even with some length concerns, and Mercyhurst extended him an opportunity last month. He’s a scholarship-level FCS prospect in our eyes still and would likely be an FBS-caliber player if he were a few inches taller. Still, Brown Jr is too explosive and powerful for college programs to overlook and is very much deserving of D1 offers.

He’s one of our favorite prospects in this class, and he is still being undervalued by college programs to date. Brown Jr remains an FCS-level talent in our eyes and those programs need to get on him ASAP. He’s a game wrecker as an interior defensive lineman which is a rare trait at that position in this state. Brown Jr is an explosive athlete and may just be the most powerful player in the state this season. He moves really well for his size and his quickness off the line is just as impressive as his strength and power.

continued his defensive dominance from his junior year and began his senior season with a Defesive Player of the Week performance. In just two quarters of play, Brown Jr lived in the Buckhannon-Upshur backfield with 5.5 TFLs and 4 sacks en route to a 77-0 final score. His explosiveness off the ball and short-area quickness were impressive in the game often beating his man and double teams on his first step. Brown Jr is just too strong and athletic for most high school offensive linemen to slow down and has the perfect size for an interior DL to create havoc and matchup issues. He’s a D1 prospect in our eyes and we’ll continue to pound the table for programs of that level to enter his recruitment.

is a prospect that we at PRZ WV have written a ton about over the past year and will enter his senior season as one of the top big men in the state. We have a full breakdown of his game in our Unoffered 2025 Prospects Worthy of D1 Looks series and just recently picked up his first offer from D2 Wheeling University. The two-way star is the biggest name to know for the Indians for the 2024 season and will be in the running this season for the Huff and Stydahar Awards signifying the state’s top defensive player and top lineman. Brown Jr has a confident FCS grade from us and should end up at the D1 level before it’s all said and done but would be a huge steal if he lands at a D2 program.
You need to get eyes on him in person to see the full picture of his game and is one of the more dominant athletes we’ve seen in a camp setting to date.

from already having multiple D1 offers because the talent and ability are plentiful in his game. From watching his film and seeing him in person at several camps, we’ve seen firsthand how explosive and dominant he can be in any setting he performs in. We believe length can be overlooked more for an interior defensive lineman and oftentimes works to their advantage in leverage and pad level situations which are strengths to Brown Jr’s game. He’s been well-developed not only in the weight room as one of the state’s strongest athletes, but also in his flexibility and explosiveness. Brown Jr moves very well for his size and could be considered a twitchy athlete at 5’10 295 with great short-area quickness and an explosive first step. He’s also not just a bull rush interior DL and has developed high-level pass-rush moves from the interior with a dangerous dip and rip. Brown Jr attacks with ferocity and tenacity with a business-like approach and strives to be the best version of himself that he can be.
We see him as an FCS-caliber prospect due to length who has received interest from programs at that level but has G5-level talent in all other areas of his game.

made a small jump in the state rankings but is now considered a Top 20 player in the 2025 class and also moved up three spots in the DL rankings to the #3 ranked DL. He plays defensive tackle the way it’s meant to be played and is as tenacious and as powerful of a defensive lineman as you’re going to find in the 2025 class. Brown Jr also has very good short-area quickness and moves well for an athlete his size. His hands are violent and being a bit undersized aids his game with the leverage that he plays with. He demands double teams and is dominant at the point of attack. Brown Jr can break doubles and wins at the line of scrimmage often. I just got to see him in person at the Winter Exposure Showcase where he was dominant and earned MVP honors further cementing him as a Top 20 player in the class and a Top 3 defensive lineman. Size limits his ceiling a bit but he’s someone who FCS schools should be looking at and a lock for considerable D2 interest.
