Another linebacker who had a big rise in our final 2025 rankings update was Bridgeport’s Donovan Williams Donovan Williams 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV . He emerged as a clear top linebacker in this class after previously being ranked as a TE. His ceiling for the linebacker position is immense as a very good athlete with good size who can continue getting bigger in college. Williams is quick both laterally and vertically and plays well in space from his outside linebacker spot. He earned a PWO spot from Mercyhurst in November but is a scholarship-level FCS prospect in our eyes and a steal if he falls to D2 as a definite steal.

2025 Bridgeport athlete Donovan Williams Donovan Williams 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV has the potential to play TE or LB at the next level and has been a threat in the Indians’ sparse passing game.
He may move to linebacker in our final rankings, but Williams’ ability as a pass catcher shouldn’t be overlooked. He’s a nice-sized athlete with a ton of athletic upside for both positions and has the typical Bridgeport physicality as a blocker at TE too. Williams has very good north-south speed and can move laterally just as well when at outside linebacker. Williams is deserving of offers from in-state D2 programs and has a high ceiling as a future college player.

Donovan Williams Donovan Williams 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV quietly put together a great junior campaign for the Bridgeport Indians in 2023 on both sides of the ball and is an underrated prospect heading into his senior year. We have him ranked as the 7th best TE in the 2025 class and a Top 150 player at this time who could also play on the defensive side of the ball in college as an OLB/Edge type of player. Williams was able to total over 400 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns as a TE/WR last season which is an incredible feat given how rarely they throw the ball out of the single-wing. Williams has quality length and size for either TE or LB at 6’2 200 with the athleticism to be a playmaker at both positions. He was very reliable as a pass catcher when they did call upon his services and showed he has contested catch and yards-after-catch ability as well as being a very good blocker in their system. On defense, Williams’ athleticism is a big aid in pass coverage and playing in space where he proved to be a consistent open-field tackler and pass rusher.
He should be a no-doubt D2 prospect at both positions depending on where colleges believe his best positon is.

Bridgeport’s Donovan Williams Donovan Williams 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV could’ve been ranked as a tight end or linebacker but was ultimately put in the tight end category after having a nice year receiving for the heavy-run Indians. He was by far the leading receiver for Bridgeport with 452 yards and 5 touchdowns which are incredible numbers for a WR/TE in the single-wing scheme. I just got to see him workout at linebacker at the Winter Exposure Showcase where he earned an LB Camp MVP award so he may eventually be switched to LB in our rankings. Williams is listed at 6’3 210 and is starting to grow into his body more which will greatly benefit his game even further.
