delivered a standout performance in Round 1, helping propel his team to a commanding 49-7 victory over Amundsen. Chahino showcased remarkable efficiency, completing 13 of 16 passes for 282 yards and five touchdowns, effectively spreading the ball to keep the defense on its heels. This week, he’ll aim to maintain his sharp play and build on his momentum as he prepares for a tougher challenge against a resilient Burlington Central squad.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s a great time to be a Geneva Viking. In their talented 2025 class of prospects, 6’1, 195 lb. QB

is a big name to watch despite only playing in three games during the 2022 season. Those three games did include varsity reps however, and against both varsity and non-varsity defenses, Chahino showed off arm strength and velocity, particularly on intermediate throws, a quick release and a compact-looking throwing motion, and mobility and toughness. He also looks accurate from his limited reps in 2022. Big-time bounceback year for Mr. Chahino in 2023!

is another young quarterback who has been picking up interest from some traditional powers across the Midwest. The 6’1 Geneva gunslinger showed off some of his skills in the 2022 football season and is looking to take Illinois by storm in 2023. In the pocket, Tony moves smoothly and under control. As he carefully scans the field, Tony can easily set his feet and deliver passes with excellent timing and touch. Tony moves very well outside the pocket and has even made some Mahomes-esk throws from time to time. If Tony needs to scramble away from pressure, he has no problem extending plays as he runs fearlessly through opposing defenses. Even with limited playing time in his sophomore season, you can tell that Tony has a lot to offer as a quarterback. I am expecting Tony to have a big season this year and into the future. Whoever lands this quarterback in the future is going to make a splash in the recruiting landscape.
