Burt is a 6’1, 225 lbs middle linebacker out of Marmion Academy. He has the size, speed, and strength that all elite linebacker possess. What stands out most about Burt is his high motor. He is relentless in his pursuit of the ball, whether he is running sideline to sideline in the run game or blitzing. Burt’s energy jumps out when watching his film. He has plus speed, smooth athleticism, and plays with a physicality that strikes fear in opposing offenses. As he heads into his senior year, Burt’s stock is soaring throughout the state of Illinois.

Next up we have the 6’1″ 215 lbs sophomore ILB Gavin Burt Gavin Burt 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB Geneva | 2025 State IL . Based of the sophomore’s highlights from 2022 it looks like he has a bright future ahead of him. Multiple snaps show Gavin’s instincts for the LB position. He quickly diagnoses run plays from the movement of the OL and mirroring the back. His quick processing gives him an extra step making it hard for the OL to get an angle on him. All Burt has to do from there is navigate through the trenches on his way to the ball carrier. Gavin also had a few plays that showed off his awareness. He did a great job of staying home and sniffing out a screen on one snap. He did a great job of fighting through blocks to end that play. Lastly, Gavin does have good strength to fight through blocks as well as lay hard hitting tackles.
