No wide receiver had as big of an offseason as Konkey.  It was a combination of the blistering track times he posted along with what he did in camps that blew his recruitment up to where he ended up committing to Illinois.  The 6’1″ wide out is one of the fastest players in the state.  That tracks on tape as well using his long strides and acceleration to get by corners and safeties with ease.  Glides past them with ease adjusting to the deep ball in the air.  Crisp route runner that can run a pretty advanced route tree already while making defenders miss in the open field.  Feel for finding space when his quarterback is scrambling. 

Illinois landed perhaps the spring/summers biggest stock riser in Konkey who will fly up the board in our next update with what he did on the track posting insane times along with catching passes the Illini are happy to have this speedy wide out.

Konkey offers good length at 6’1, 175 pounds and a wide catch radius. He has a knack for timing his jumps to out-rebound defenders on deep throws. His size and body control make him a red-zone weapon.
