has long been regarded as one of New Jersey’s most gifted defensive prospects. The 6’1”, 210-pound linebacker first drew national attention back in eighth grade, earning an early offer from Georgia, extended by current Syracuse head coach Fran Brown. Since then, Butler’s career has been marked by a blend of elite potential, resilience, and productivity.
After battling through injuries last season, Butler is back to form — fast, fluid, and confident. In Glassboro’s matchup against Salem, he flashed his trademark instincts and closing speed, consistently diagnosing plays and finishing with authority. His ability to tackle in space and deliver clean, physical hits separates him from most linebackers his age.
Now fully healthy, Butler looks like the player everyone expected him to become — a true sideline-to-sideline defender with next-level range. As Glassboro makes another playoff push, expect him to remind everyone why he’s been considered one of the top linebackers in New Jersey for the past three years.

. Manning the middle of the Bulldogs’ front 7, Butler is a physical prospect who likes to lower the boom. With physical gifts and a championship pedigree, Butler has already earned offers from Syracuse and Rhode Island off of the heels of 109 tackles last fall.

is built like a modern-day middle linebacker—physical, athletic, and able to stay on the field all three downs. After bouncing back from injury, he put together a strong 2023 season, helping lead Glassboro to a state title while racking up 61 solo tackles. Butler is at his best when he can square up runners and strike through contact, but he’s also more fluid in coverage than most at his position. With a full offseason of development and a larger leadership role ahead, Butler has a real shot to top the solo tackles list in 2025-26. His offer list, which includes Syracuse and Georgia, reflects just how high his ceiling is.

capped off an impressive showing for Glassboro. Despite nursing an injury, the sophomore linebacker displayed a relentless style of play, charging downhill with explosive energy and solid strength. At the point of attack, he consistently held his ground, plugging holes and helping shut down Woodstown’s run game. Butler’s size and physicality made him a formidable presence, and his efforts were instrumental in Glassboro’s defensive success. His performance solidified why he’s already catching the attention of Division I programs.

Tasheem Butler is a 6’1 linebacker, that is still raw and still learning the game and still and right now playing, off athlestsim. When watching his film his standout trait is his pursuit. The way he plays with a relentless motor when pursuing the football when playing in space. Whats encouraging is when you watch how he uses his hands, and how he defeates blocks. He’s able to use hand placement and leverage to defeat blocks while playing in the box. As his knowledge and feel for the game matures, so will all aspects of his game. As he has tape of him spot dropping in coverage. With offers from Maryland, UGA, and Alabama heh has the potential to be a well rounded linebacker.

. Another powerful backer, Tasheem can blow up the play before it ever gets started. Great size for a freshman, Tasheem was a big impact player in the middle of the field, making it challenging for any offense to have success between the tackles. A defender that can also pursue sideline to sideline, Tasheem is a player I feel confident will excel in the future.

Tasheem Butler, Glassboro’s formidable freshman middle linebacker, left a strong impression with his 6’1”, 220-pound frame. Despite aspects to refine, such as defeating blocks, his raw athleticism and explosive play were evident in the game. His powerful hits and coverage skills showcased the potential that earned him offers from Georgia and Maryland, making him a standout player even in Glassboro’s loss.

‘s write up, Butler is part of this deeply talented Glassboro group coming through. Has dropped 15 pounds since the winter and is moving much better and still hits like a truck. One of the meanest kids on the field I’ve seen in this cycle. Already holds an offer from Akron.

I’m telling you right now, this kid is a DUDE! As he figures out what weight he wants to play at, you better figure out how to get away from him ball carriers. He is put together like a “Man Child”. Not only does he look and have the mechanics of a prototypical linebacker, he’s agile enough to track things down from the opposite gap. Butler has a feel for the game that just isn’t taught. I could see the wheels turning from play start to finish. I don’t see a ceiling for him!

(Wide Receiver MVP), he was a big part of the the Glassboro youth program winning back-to-back league titles
-He passes the eye test right way. He walked in the Superdome and you could feel the eyes of onlookers shift towards him. Butler is a prospect that looks mean and plays even meaner
-What impressed me the most, was how well he moved. Coming into the camp, without ever seeing him play live, I had reservations about his quickness and straight-line speed. He sured up my reservations with a 5.1 in the forty and a 5.31 in the shuttle run
