had 6 tackles (3 solo) in the game, but this statistical performance is not what I am highlighting. Johnson’s biggest play will not appear in the stat sheet in any way, shape, or form. However, if I were Johnson’s coach, I would implore him to pin the play he made on Cedar Grove’s first possession of the second quarter to his highlight tape forever.
In their second play of their ensuing possession after Glassboro took a 8-7 lead, Cedar Grove’s

Playing what appears to be Tampa 2 to his side, Johnson’s eyes were perfect and he reacted immediately, lighting Morrice up as he tried to cross is face on the pattern. As a result he jarred the ball loose. Although the pass was ruled incomplete and thus negated the subsequent action, Johnson had the presence of mind to scoop the ball up and return it for a would-be score.
The impact of this play was its brunt that Morrice had to shoulder. Morrice had to exit the game for several plays and did not appear to be himself for the remainder of the game upon his return. This was the first defensive turning point in the game for Glassboro.
Johnson’s best football is still ahead of him. Just having completed his sophomore year, he broke through the lineup in a big way with 65 tackles (30 solo), 1 forced fumble, and 4 interceptions.

, a promising 5’10” quarterback from the class of 2027, possesses a lengthy frame with long arms and legs, indicating potential for further growth and development. While his tape may be limited, Johnson’s skills are evident in the glimpses we’ve seen. Notably, for a taller defensive back, he displays impressive hip movement, a valuable asset for coverage in the secondary. In addition to his defensive back skills, Johnson also demonstrates versatility by playing wide receiver. His ability to execute sudden, sharp routes, as evidenced by a notable secondary release, highlights his potential as a dynamic playmaker on both sides of the ball. On defense, he exhibits sound tackling technique, including the ability to come downhill effectively and disrupt plays, as demonstrated by his tackle for loss and forced fumble. As Johnson continues to gain experience and refine his coverage abilities, he has the potential to emerge as one of the top cornerbacks in the state of New Jersey. With his length and speed, he possesses the tools to excel in coverage against opposing wide receivers, including handling quick-step and slot situations. Keep an eye on

has adopted. More than a one-trick pony, he also breaks on the ball nicely when in pass coverage. Also a hitter, Johnson delivers hits through your hips that you will soon not forget – both when tackling and when breaking up passes. Johnson absolutely flies up for run support so quickly that if you blink, you might just miss him. Johnson would be ranked higher, however we simply need to see more clips of him in coverage defending passes to do so.

is another piece of the puzzle that could take this team to a state championship in the very near future. Racking up 19 tackles and forcing 2 fumbles in 2023, Kenny is another quick twitch safety that can close in on the outside quickly and punish the runner attempting to break free. Don’t be surprised if Kenny helps shape a dynasty in Glassboro over these next few seasons.

, Johnson III is also headed to Glassboro. While I believe he’s the top defensive back right now, there’s a good chance he could be recruited as a wide receiver too. He’s had an active summer, having already camped–and impressed–at Maryland and Temple. In addition to 7v7 tournaments up and down the east coast.

Playmaker ability on both sides of the ball. Closes the gap when the ball is in the air and takes the right approach. He doesn’t catch it, nobody does. I like the pad level he plays with in and out of breaks with getting his eyes to the nose of the ball first with urgency.
