One of the bright spots for the Chaminade defense was “Famous Seamus”. The senior captain is easily one of the most complete linebackers you’ll find in this league. He can play inside or outside at a high level. Miller was good in pass coverage and is a sideline to sideline linebacker. He did an excellent job slipping past blockers and coming away with impressive open field tackles. Miller will be playing at Trinity next fall.

It seems like Chaminade always has that very productive linebacker and this season it’s

. After having an excellent junior season at OLB, the Flyers have moved him into the middle. And at MLB, Miller will be stacking up the tackles this upcoming season. Look for him to be an elite run stopper and Miller also had a great summer slowing down running backs in pass coverage.

The captain from Chaminade came away as the top linebacker in Pod 1. He was one of the smarter linebackers this fall and it carried over at the downstate classic. Miller was able to read routes very well and he closed in on the ball and had great timing throughout the afternoon. He was tasked with going against an extremely quick running back group and I’d have to say he did the best job matching feet and getting into hips as he won a good amount of his reps.

Miller, a New York Product, impressed me by how he showed out during the showcase. Given his thick build, he was a stone wall during run pursuit drills. As he zeroed in on the ball carrier Miller created balance for himself by lowering is center of gravity and delivering a quick little wrap. Rarely did I see him get juked out during this period. Miller was also awfully physical with backs out of the backfield during skelly. His size and strength stifled backs within 5 yards of the LOS all afternoon, preventing them from getting loose on deep routes.

is a very well-rounded linebacker who does everything well. Miller needs to develop a little more in terms of developing a part of his game to a more elite level which would elevate his overall play. In the field Miller is really versatile in his positioning and can impact the game from multiple alignments, even on special teams. In coverage, Miller is solid against RBs and TEs and against the run he can get off blocks well. As a tackler, Miller is physical and can make plays in space against twitchy athletes. Overall, Miller does not really have holes to his game but it is just about developing a skillset that is above and beyond his peers to take the next step.

easily deserves that recognition and was probably the top performing honorable mention and a standout in a stacked linebacker group from New York. Miller displayed really good instincts and athleticism and he had really competitive reps against the best running backs. Miller was great in camp and one of the best at a very deep position group.

Chaminade’s linebacker core was loaded with senior talent, but Miller still made a big impact on this Flyers defense. At 6’0 200 pounds, Miller was one of the more physical players in the catholic league this season. He played mainly outside linebacker and he did a tremendous job of sniffing out short passes and consistently was making those open field tackles for the Flyers. Next year with all those seniors gone, you can expect Miller to be the leader of this defense and for his stats to increase.
