Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A big quarterback with plenty of size and natural arm talent, Harrigan is one of the best quarterbacks in Atlanta who is fresh off a big junior season for the Wolves. A big-play quarterback who can stretch the field vertically, Harrigan has a chance to play at the Power Four level after earning several D1 offers this winter. As a junior in 2025, Harrigan threw for over 2,350 yards and 28 touchdowns. He’s smart, has impressive physical tools, and shows mobility in the pocket. He’s a weapon on the run, but he’s lethal with his arm. This rising senior is now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 7 QB prospect in Georgia for the 2027 class.

It was a big winter for Harrigan, who has long been one of my favorite players in Georgia at the QB position. Anything I say at this point will just make me sound like a broken record, but it’s his combination of size, upside, and easy spin and drive on the ball that really sticks out to me. He will only continue to get better as he grows into himself. I don’t expect his recruiting buzz to be done yet.

I’ve long been a huge fan of Ryan Harrigan Ryan Harrigan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Woodward Academy | 2027 State GA and am expecting this to be a big offseason for him. The traits speak for themself. He is tall, lean, and gets plenty of life on the ball. He has a whippy delivery and can drive the ball into tight windows. Impressive arm talent. The traits are one thing, but he was efficient as well, finishing with 31 total TDs against just 1 INT. If any QB takes a jump firmly onto P4 radars this offseason, it will be Harrigan.

The 6’3 185 QB is making a solid case as one of the more under the radar QB prospects in the 2027 Class. The 3-sport standout has passed for over 1900-yds with 30 total TDs. Very efficient, completing 144 of 244 attempts to just 1 interception.
Harrigan is athletic in the pocket with quick feet and a fast release. A strong arm that can put zip on his throws. He has already received offers from high academic programs Cornell and Columbia and is a QB to keep on your radar heading into the 2026 season. Good upside.

I came into this year with the belief that Harrigan was a strong breakout candidate, and his production is proving that belief. Harrigan is over 1000 yards on the year, completing 70% of his passes, and has thrown 12 TDs against 1 INT. Harrigan is a tall, thin prospect with a large chunk of physical maturity left. He has a big arm, capable of bombing the ball behind safeties and putting it on receivers who flash open in the short areas. I love the upside here and believe there is a chance he generates FBS/P4 buzz this offseason. He has a few Ivy League offers under his belt.

At Woodward Academy is where you’ll find another possible “breakout” quarterback to keep a close eye on this fall. A big-time talent who can accurately push the ball vertically, Harrigan is mobile, but has no problem standing in the pocket to deliver a big ball down the field. He plays with poise, confidence, and is one of the more underrated quarterbacks in Atlanta heading into the 2025 season. He’s a gifted passer who will only get better over time. Don’t be surprised if he lights up the stat sheet this fall as junior.
