A linebacker who, contingent upon his senior season, may earn himself more notoriety is Red Bank Catholic’s Patrick McGonnell Patrick McGonnell 6'2" | 185 lbs | LB Red Bank Catholic | 2025 State NJ . Often used as an edge, McGonnell uses his hips to generate power and jolt an offender back while he works to create separation in his upper half. McGonnell will use his body when coming from space and be physical with oncoming blockers, blowing things up in the process. A good tackler, McGonnell gets low and breaks down. In coverage he will get hands on his opponent to disrupt the timing of their route. Lastly, and a big positive, is that McGonnell can run with receivers on switch/wheel concepts way downfield.

A Casey of Red Bank Catholic, McGonnell might have been the most aggressive linebacker in attendance. This aggression manifested in just about every aspect of his game. During run-game simulations and he flew up and attacked the running back. During indy I saw how he took charge, often being the first to take spins and go all-out in every agility station and drill he was a part of. The competition phase of the showcase was more of the same. McGonnell was aggressive at the line, being physical with his opponent from the snap and all throughout their route; as he was equally aggressive playing the ball or the receiver’s hands, depending on the circumstance.
