Newell measures in at 5’7 135-pounds. This previous season, he had 43 carries for 233 yards with 2 touchdowns, 10 total tackles (7 solo, 3 assisted), and 4 kickoff returns for 65 yards. Newell has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good speed, and balance. Good vision to find routes through the defense. Good inside running. Very good outside running. He turns the corner and uses his athletic ability to get free. Newell excels out in space. He’ll juke out defenders with his jump cuts and make them miss. I’m looking forward to seeing Newell in bigger role next season.
