Often lining up in the slot, Smith does a good job on second level releases in off coverage by limiting surface area near contact on a jab step making sure to get on the toes on defenders. Smith shows the ability to adjust to the ball late and makes sure to secure the catch. In addition, he will high point the ball at the highest point when needed. With the ball in his hands, he shows some agility to make defenders miss in the open field. He also does a good job finding open space and reading blocks for YAC.
