Monticello gunslinger Owen Engel Owen Engel 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Monticello | 2025 State VA ‘s recruiting has gotten back on track, picking up his 4th offer from Capital University last week. The young man is a grinder and should see his offers reach over 10 plus before the recruiting season ends. Depending on when commits, Engel could be one of the most sough after recruits for division 2 and 3 schools, his skill set is worth it.

The senior QB had a great game leading Monticello’s offense. He ended with 4TDs and was accurate throughout the game with good ball placement. He has received a couple offers to play in college and could see some more come. In addition to a great game, he also earned himself the Hunter Wyant Scholarship.

Under center for a third year will be All-Jefferson District honorable mention selection Owen Engel Owen Engel 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Monticello | 2025 State VA . A rising senior Engel has progressed each season for the Mustangs and looks poised to lead them on a deep playoff run this fall.

A mobile passer who has two division 3 offers already, I like his moxie in the pocket. Good size kid too at 6’3 and 185 lbs., it appears his recruiting is just taking off and rightfully so.

I recently wrote about Owen in an article and broke down what his film shows that you can read here. What I saw at the combine is a confident player who is not phased by pressure. That is the mental toughness you want in your QB. He looked good throwing the ball, even in the rain, putting it on target for the WRs.

Owen has very good height for a QB and is a pocket QB who can roll out and make accurate throws while on the move in either direction. Shows good accuracy and arm strength throwing a nice spiral. He is able to throw the ball where only his receiver can catch it and does not shy away from trusting them to make a play. He will be leading Monticello’s offense this fall, and you will want to make sure you are keeping tabs on them this season.
