His ability to read and react to the play and attack upfield against the run is good. During the game, he showed a good ability to make tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. He also showed a good ability to drop in pass coverage. The other area he excelled in is his ability to make tackles in the open field. Ewell is a good linebacker prospect.
