Telona is a force on both sides of the ball for one of the top programs in northern California. At 6’2” 270 lbs. he projects as an interior defensive lineman that can dominate the LOS and overwhelm opponents with his speed and strength. He’s quick off the ball with an explosive first step out of his stance creating immediate movement and penetration. Strong in the hands and lower body he’s a heavy striker that can maintain separation from blockers and fight through contact to get to the ball carrier. Possesses a powerful anchor to take on blockers, stack double teams, and plug a gap. He’s a natural bender that is quick in the short area and can redirect in traffic to pursue the ball. Picked up some big time offers during his junior season and moved inside the 50 overall and the top five at his position.

Telona has had one of the more impressive starts to his Junior season of any prospect across Northern California and has picked up multiple power four offers in recent weeks while playing both ways for the Spartans. The 3-star prospect is a twitchy and disruptive interior pass rusher that has a great use of hands at the point of attack, natural bend in tight windows and moves extremely well for his size. He has picked up offers from the University of Oregon, Minnesota, Auburn and Cal in recent weeks and should be a 15+ offer guy by the time it’s all said and done.

Telona impressed at a few stops this summer against some of the top competition in the Norcal region, and checks into our rankings as a top 20 defensive linemen. Telona picked up offers from SDSU and Sacramento State after a very strong showing at the Sac State camp and dominating in the one on one session’s. The De La Salle standout is a heavy striker that is quick off the ball, creates immediate knock-back and shows quick block recognition, plays with a low hat and can eat up double teams while providing position versatility across the front. He also flashes the ability to bend in traffic and has a quick use of hands/natural shoulder turn in pass rush situations.
