Nate is an explosive linebacker who uses his hands well at the point of attack and is not afraid to strike. As a sophomore, he has shown fearlessness and above-average physical ability to play at the varsity level. Nate will be an impact player for St Ed’s in 2023, as Gregory also is having a phenomenal offseason on the mats for the Eagles. Nate is a first-team All-State-type athlete, a player whose stock will rise. Expect his recruitment to pick up over the next year and to hear his name all fall.

In 2022, Nate helped the St. Edward Eagles to a 15-win season, held opposing offenses to 10.5 points per game and win the Division I state championship. He plays as an ILB. Against the run, he does a great job of navigating through trash and uses his quality instincts in pursuit. He shows great explosiveness as he makes the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL. Against the pass, he drops back quickly in coverage, effectively reads the QB while patrolling his zone, locates the ball and shows great hands as he makes the interception.

Gregory, a varsity Sophomore is crucial to St. Edwards inside/middle linebacker positions. Coming in at 6’0 225 Gregory’s stats range around 6 sacks, 178 tackles, that’s just the beginning. Gregory represents sole athleticism and speed as he applies pressure off the line as well as when matched up with WRs, often being able to break up or intercept catches. As he trains through this off-season i am excited to see his athleticism take it to the next level next season!

Nate plays as an ILB. Against the run, he quickly reads run/pass, shows great instincts as he takes the correct angle in pursuit, shows good play strength as he quickly sheds the block from the OL and delivers a nice form tackle preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the pass, he shows very good play speed to stay in phase with athletic RB coming out of the backfield on wheel routes and prevents his man from getting open.
