Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Mitchell has long been one of the top passers across the state and has been a huge reason why Riordan has seen such a rise in recent years. He is an elite deep ball passer with touch and velocity over the top and puts great zip on the ball with throw anticipation and elite pocket awareness. He has been on a tear so far in his final prep season and had another strong showing in the CCS quarter finals throwing for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns. Mitchell and Riordan will be entering into a huge CCS clash with Serra on Saturday afternoon for one of the hottest games in the state.

Mitchell who is a Vanderbilt commit and holds national offers, helped lead Riordan to a big time win over the Lancers of St. Francis and is looking to be one of the top players across the state in 2025 with his loaded host of receivers at his disposal. Mitchell who has been one of the more highly recruited signal callers in the class across California, had a big evening throwing for over 360 yards and 4 scores in a convincing 47-28 win over St. Francis. Look for Riordan to be the favorite to come out of the CCS Open Division bracket come December and have a real shot to play for a Norcal regional bowl game and potentially make their way down to Southern California.

Mitchell has been racking up MVP Honors at most every camp he has attended this off-season and he was no doubt the best signal caller in the group on Saturday afternoon. He threw the ball extremely well downfield with elite ball placement and put good air and a tight spin under his deep/intermediate throws. Mitchell displayed why he is one of the top 2026 signal callers in all of California and remains one of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the western region.
