Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Sanchez can either play on the edge or as a inside linebacker in college and is a very good overall football player with a high IQ and plays with violent intentions. Off the edge, he has a quick first step get off, is able to quickly reset the line while showing heavy hands, a violent disengage and collapses into the backfield quickly. He shows he can win with both speed and power around the corner and has a variety of pass rush moves in his toolbox to win against bigger tackles. Sanchez is one of the top returning players across the WCAL and is a defensive player of the year candidate in the loaded league.

Sanchez is one of the better ’27 linebackers across the region, and is coming off a stellar sophomore season campaign for one of the top teams in Norcal. He is a true edge setter that plays with heavy hands, can make plays outside the tackles or bang in the box and is a fluid mover in space with cover abilities in the flats/downfield. He shows a variety of pass rush moves in his toolbox from the edge, can bend naturally and covers a ton of ground quickly when collapsing the pocket. Sanchez is a very well rounded prospect that currently holds offers from SDSU, UNLV and Utah.

Excellent movement skills, twitch, and burst to close in pursuit. He’s relentless when chasing showing he can run to make tackles down field or from the back side. Flashes quick and active hand usage to maintain separation from blockers in both run stopping and pass rush situations. Strong and powerful at the POA to bring heavy contact. Collected his first three D1 offers this month with more on the way.
