At 6’3” 240 lbs. Lata is a powerful, position flexible DL with the size, motor, and athleticism to play across the line on either side. He’s disruptive on the DL being strong at the POA, explosive off the ball, and relentless in pursuit. Whether lined up on the edge or inside, he plays with violent hands, can control gaps, and sheds blockers with easy. His versatility allows him to impact the game in multiple ways showing he can set the edge against the run, collapse the pocket as a pass rusher, or plug interior lanes with leverage and power. He plays with a high motor and physical edge flashing the ability to win with both strength and technique. Will be an interesting prospect to watch as he develops to see where he lines up going into his junior season and beyond.

Lata checked into our rankings as a top 30 player at his position across the defensive line in the 2027 class and has plenty of room for growth over the next two years. He is strong at the point of attack, plays with heavy hands and moves well for his size with some interior twitch and natural bend from the inside. Although a bit of a tweaner, he should fit nicely inside at the next level as he continues to pack on weight. Lata is a plus athlete that is technically sound and one of the best overall players in the loaded WCAL as we head into this Fall.

Lata is one of the top freshman prospects across northern California and is part of this load in 2027 class for Archbishop Riordan. He already holds offers from UNLV and the University of Utah and is a violent puncher and well-balanced edge player that will only continue to grow and develop into a young career. He is a no brainer candidate to potentially enter into our 2027 rankings in the next update, and is a name to note across the Bay Area this Fall for what should be a very special Riordan team. Lata is a kid that should be a 10+ FBS offer guy by the time it’s all said and done.
