Elzey demonstrated great potential as freshman on varsity and just recently earned his first offer from Nevada. 5’10” 170 lbs. with a skillset build around his speed and quick twitch ability. He shows high level short area explosiveness hitting top speed in just a few strides and accelerating through running lanes to break into space. Flashes lateral quickness and change of direction, allowing him to make sharp cuts without gearing down. His footwork is sudden and efficient to force defenders off balance and be elusive in tight spaces. Dangerous in space with the ability to turn small gains into game breaking plays. Expect increased usage and exposure as he develops in one of NorCal’s top programs.

Elzey saw plenty of time up on varsity for one of the top teams in the state in Riordan and flashed what should be a successful future three years for the freshman phenom. He is a downhill and physical back that shows good vision in tight windows when navigating through traffic, has open field speed and can break arm and ankle tackles in the box while showing cutback skills and a natural feel for running lanes in zone schemes. He will only continue to improve as a runner and pack on weight/increase speed and agility and is one of the top ’29 players in the WCAL.

Elzey is a highly skilled ball carrier with the potential to take it to the house every time he touches the football. He has elite vision and footwork to gain huge yards even when the play breaks down. Defenses are in trouble if they over pursue, because Chase is a cutback king with homerun speed as well. On top of that he’s a open field threat in the passing game with good hands.
