His soft helped him with speed in the cone and shuttle drill. When pass pro was up, Gary was in the first group and didn’t shy away from a challenge. Handled speed and power rush with great ability with proper form and technique. His balanced approach quarrelled several opponents’ plan of attack. Like he did on the field during his team’s state championship run, Gary stood out above the competition. His work ethic, leadership and abilities make him a can’t miss target at the next level.

Gary was impressive in his senior season on his way to second team All-Ohio in Division IV. In an offense that was creative with its skill position players, Gary was a constant presence for protecting the middle of the line or blowing defensive tackles off the line of scrimmage. His hard work this offseason in the Lineman Lab stood out in his film as a polished interior offensive lineman with form that will get him far at the college level. He is a flexible lineman with a good frame at 6-foot-3 and 290-pounds. A leverage specialist who can control defenders from his snap motion. Quick reflexes on handchecks with good force in his upper body to get his hands on pads dominate. His footwork was impressive throughout the season, seems second nature to him with all the work he has put in. Few players put in the work like Gary did this season to show his abilities. He has offers to Defiance and Otterbein with interest from a handful of other schools and is a player I could easily see playing on Saturdays.

His progress this offseason has led him to improved physicality in his game and he performed his best at the showcase. He showed improved flexibility in his form allowing him to get under players more easily. Showing clear improvement with his footwork, Gary was soft on his feet to keep his power while moving. Gary looked poised in front of the scouts to keep his focus and deflect defender’s hands off him to move them off the ball. While he has never been short on strength, Gary showed a leap in physicality for things to come in his game. With plenty of time left this spring and summer to keep improving, Gary is a player I’m excited to see this fall as a more polished linemen with a lot of upside.
