Bailey is a fun watch on film. He’s just another in what’s a long line of fast and athletic defensive players who’ve played for the Tarblooders. He has a great combo of size, speed, and athleticism. His get-off is really good and he’s able to win the edge just off that. He can further go into his pass rush bag with active hands he uses to fight off the blocks of offensive tackles. When the blocker oversets to take away the speed he has the ability to dip and bend and shoot inside for a straight line to the quarterback. I’m very excited to see what Bailey’s future holds.

Kaylon is a big breakout target for the Tarblooders this season. He’s a balanced player. He already has a great frame and still has room to grow. He has a quick get-off and showcases explosiveness in his first step. He’s a solid run-stuffer who can use his powerful arms and his play recognition to his advantage. His breakout will come with an expanded pass-rush skill set, but Kaylon has all the tools to do it.

Great edge prospect, stout against the run, good open-field tackler and good pass rusher. Flashes a quick first step off the LOS. Thick chest, good frame, see how he develops this season. Has a chance to be one of the best prospects in the Midwest and definitely one of the more explosive defensive linemen. Earned an offer from Syracuse.

Within the first 35 minutes of the first practice, Bailey caused two bloody noses and put the rest of his East teammates on notice. While I didn’t see the hits happen, because I was on the other field watching the West team, I heard the two hits and all the hootin’ and hollerin’ that proceeded them. I also had two coaches tell me about it when I came over. Hailing from Cleveland, Bailey first caught my eye in December at AYF Nationals in December, where he was a standout for the G’s United team. One of only a handful of eighth-graders on that team, Bailey stood out despite being younger. He’s carried that same ability to the All-Star game in Las Vegas. He’s a 2027 prospect I have listed as an Athlete because he’s a little undersized if you’re thinking about a traditional Defensive End and because he’s very quick, even playing Running Back on offense. That said, he is one of the best hitters I’ve seen in this class. He coils up before exploding through, up and back to make very sure tackles. He’s a good looking prospect.
