A lot could be said of Matthew Gary Matthew Gary 6’3″ | 295 lbs | OL Glenville | 2024 State OH ‘s day at the showcase like MVP or dominant, but above all else he was a leader. At every station of the showcase Gary was first to line up and give his all and the results showed. With his work in the Linemen Lab he showed off some of the best footwork of the day as a premier interior offensive lineman with drive. He was poised with speed and power throughout the drills. His soft helped him with speed in the cone and shuttle drill. When pass pro was up, Gary was in the first group and didn’t shy away from a challenge. Handled speed and power rush with great ability with proper form and technique. His balanced approach quarrelled several opponents’ plan of attack. Like he did on the field during his team’s state championship run, Gary stood out above the competition. His work ethic, leadership and abilities make him a can’t miss target at the next level.

Talon Beichler
Talon Beichler
Talon Beichler was as technically sound of an offensive lineman as I’ve seen at the high school level. A confident offensive lineman with a large wingspan and above average lateral movement, Beichler stood out all afternoon long. He put his athleticism on display during the combine aspects as a big man that can move with speed and power. His footwork stood out as a polished lineman that couldn’t be moved easily. Footwork was natural and second nature that allowed him to attack defensive linemen during one-on-one drills. Above average speed for a player of his size that made him as quick as any player in short yardage. Beichler has the makeup of a college offensive lineman. He put together one of the most complete afternoons of anyone at the showcase as one of the top linemen of the day.

At 6-foot-8 and 305-pounds, it would be easy to suggest Jonathan Stangl Jonathan Stangl 6’8″ | 305 lbs | OL Canton Central Catholic | 2025 State OH would be a standout from the day, but Stangl was sharp and aggressive in pass pro that made him one of the top performers. With his long, powerful arms a first line of defense when defensive lineman came at him, Stangl was at his best in one-on-one. Kept a natural flow out of his stance to move side to side when speedy defenders tried to put the moves on him. Stangl maintained great form keeping his shoulders squared to his man in pass pro. With full arm extension and his body squared to his man, defenders could do little to affect his game. He takes a powerful stance to keep himself upright. Kicks out with long steps and strong feet to push back against attacks. His effort was on point all day as a big man who can do a lot more than most guys his size.

Shamar Chilton Shamar Chilton 6’1″ | 220 lbs | DL Grove City | 2027 State OH stood out as one of the most well-rounded athletes competing at the showcase. While he plays along the defensive line, Chilton would make for a defensive standout at the defensive end or defensive tackle position. His athletic abilities are well beyond that of a player in the 2027 class. He possesses rare speed and power built into a full-framed player that is still growing. Explosive off the snap with elite quick-twitch reaction. Bull rush or speed rush moves that can overwhelm even the top offensive linemen. Power in his lower body that can drive bigger linemen off the line. Natural movements to maintain a low approach when firing into offensive linemen. Pays attention to the little movements his opponent makes, can feel a weakness and attack. Although only a freshman, Chilton is a special player in the making and one college coaches already need to keep an eye on.

Dominic Winton
Dominic Winton
Dominic Winton was the hardest man to stop at the showcase on his way to being named the defensive line MVP. Winton is a powerful lineman who loads up his power from his lower body and launches through his opponent. Once he gets his hands on a linemen he uses them to control the direction he wants to attack. Keeps his shoulders low when attacking, allows him to get under linemen and towards the quarterback. Drives forward against size to find weaknesses and attack. A leverage specialist that opens his options once under an offensive lineman’s pads. Shows good aggression from his position to make him an asset when he takes the field. Plays well in tight spaces with skinny hips to move his body to attack. Winton impressed scouts and coaches as a high-motor guy with another couple of years to develop. College coaches would be wise to give Winton some attention now with his open recruitment still fresh.
Elijah Berman Elijah Berman 6’3″ | 275 lbs | DL Chaminade Julienne | 2026 State OH is a problem in the making for offensive lineman. A defensive lineman with an arsenal of moves at his disposal, Berman displays a high ceiling of potential along the defensive front. He was quick, strong, but most importantly a smart player coming off the snap. Shows the ability to process what an offensive lineman gives him and react. Weaponizes his arms to knock leaning defenders. Quick hips to execute smooth spin moves few linemen can stop. Shows good instincts from the snap. Strong footwork to get a clean push off with power to drive his body forward. A fun player to watch with room to grow still, Berman has the motor you want to see in a budding defensive star. Showed a lot at the showcase and will no doubt be a name we hear a lot more next fall.
