Kheli Boyd, ATH, Michigan- Boyd was a standout from the moment I watched his team. I first noticed him defensively, as he was in the grill of his receivers, was quick to react to routes and concepts, and he played the ball well. His defensive performance was enough to earn top performer as it was, but then on offense, he took his squads offense to a different level. His quick change of direction, his display of athleticism and understanding of how to get open made him tough to defend on both days. Belleville should be super pumped about what they have coming up with Kheli Boyd!
Anthony Coellner Anthony Coellner 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Carmel | 2026 State IN , QB, Indiana- Anthony’s arm was absolutely one of the best of the entire weekend. The poise and confidence he had with every throw radiated to his teammates, who in turn clearly had confidence in him. His mechanics are good, his footwork on his dropbacks were very nice, and he made quick decisions. At times he had to go to his 3rd of 4th read, and he did so with ease. I know he is getting some attention from the next level already, but the Carmel native has a very bright future ahead at the QB position!
Kenneth Vinson Jr, ATH, Michigan- Kenneth really stood out on this Legacy team, really the whole weekend, but he took it to a different level on Championship Sunday. You can tell he is a competitive dude who wants to win, and he was willing to do whatever it took. Defensively is what I really liked seeing, as he was a ball hawk all day long. His backpedal is smooth and without a hitch, he flips his hips and changes directions with ease, and he plays the ball perfectly. While he is a touch undersized in height, he more than makes up for it with a physical body you can tell he has put a lot of work into in the weight room, and sound technique. If he has this level of production in the offseason, and can follow it up by taking his game to a new level in the fall, this could be a kid that flies under the radar and ends up being a huge pickup for whoever is willing to take him in.
Zavier Hunter, ATH, Ohio- I really cannot overstate how impressed I was with Zavier this weekend. He was probably the best all around athlete in the 12U division. He has the look, as you can tell he is going to continue to grow and mature into a big bodied receiver, and with his athleticism, it will be a nightmare for his opponents. Offensively, he runs clean routes, he gets in and out of breaks quickly, he has great focus that allows him to make difficult catches, and overall he makes DBs bite on every move with the way he sells fakes. Defensively, he backpedals easily, and does a nice job of staying on top of the receiver and playing the ball cleanly without drawing flags. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing from such a young kid, playing with maturity well beyond his years. The 2030 grad will draw a ton of attention for himself for years to come, and I am going to try and follow him from afar as closely as I can.
Brody Betser, QB, Michigan- I think I’ve mentioned this before, but every time I see Brody play, he has made significant gains in his development. This weekend was no different, as he was picking apart defenses and slinging the ball to all different corners of the field. He displayed good timing as he was able to throw into windows that weren’t there yet, but were about to. He was able to use some touch to get it over a defender underneath, and still hit his target in the chest. It was impressive to see him use his front shoulder to manipulate the safety and make the defense do what he wanted. Out of all the QBs I saw in his division, he might have had the most impressive weekend of them all.
