Deer Creek has several pieces on the offensive side of the ball that make the Antlers one of the top offenses in Class 6A-1. Wide receiver

is one of those guys and it seems crazy to have a player like Smith ranked where we have him but that’s just the nature of this year’s wide receiver group. It’s incredibly deep and talented. Smith definitely belongs among the best of the best in this class and has been a steady producer over the last few seasons. He’s a big target and it’s easy to just assume that he’s a taller possession receiver. But we’ve seen both in person and on film that he can beat guys with his speed if you aren’t careful.

and we’re fired up to see how his game looks this season. Smith broke out alongside Adamson during their sophomore seasons. He would finish his sophomore year with over 700 yards and nearly ten touchdowns. Going into his junior season, we thought that Smith would be able to take that next step and he did just that. He solidified himself as the top target in the Deer Creek passing game. He led the team in receiving, finishing with nearly 900 yards and ten touchdowns. He gives Adamson a major target in the passing game and his numbers could explode this fall.

is the first of two wide receivers in the OKC area on this breakdown. And Smith is also a good example of how imperfect the ranking system is and how guys slip through the cracks. We saw Smith light it up back in the spring at a team camp and did not get him into the last update. That’s on us. But this fall, Smith has continued that momentum from a strong offseason and has had a really good junior season. He’s become one of Adamson’s top targets in the passing game and the Antlers are once again contenders in 6A-2. We expect to see more of Smith as we look ahead to the playoffs.

is another player from Deer Creek that has been featured there. He’s coming off a game against Putnam City last week when he had nearly 250 receiving yards and a touchdown on ten catches. He also had a rushing touchdown. Smith was a player that we got a chance to see in person this offseason at a team camp. We were impressed with some of the size and athletic ability that the Deer Creek wide receivers had and Smith is a good example of that. Adamson is clearly one of the top quarterbacks in the state and Smith has emerged as one of the better receivers in Class 6A-2 this year. Smith and the Antler offense will look to continue to roll on Friday night at home.

came into this season as one of the top playmakers on this Antler offense after his breakout sophomore season. In another dominant win, the Deer Creek passing attack was on point. Smith finished the game with ten catches on the night with nearly 250 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown in their win. Now, the Antlers will look to keep that momentum going into week six when they host Choctaw in a showdown that could end up deciding the district championship. The QB/WR duo of

is a good example of that as all signs point to him being Adamson’s top target within the Deer Creek offense this season. Smith had a breakout season last fall and finished his sophomore campaign with nearly ten touchdowns and racked up over 750 yards receiving. When we watched the Antlers this spring, Smith was definitely a player that stood out to us. There’s no doubt that Deer Creek has quite a bit of talent in this 2025 class and Smith might be one of the more underrated gems. We’ll be watching to see what he does for an encore this fall after his breakout season a year ago.
