Mason has a great frame to build on and fill out at the next level. He offers inside/outside versatility. His tape shows him making an impact as a pass rusher off the edge where he can flash his lateral agility and hand use. The long LB can also be asked to drop into coverage thanks to his quick feet and ability to slide fluidly in space and change direction. Plus he does a good job of reading the eyes of the QB and feeling athletes in his zone. Plus the ’25 also can handle the physical side of the position, triggering downhill and filling against the run. Mason is a three down LB with versatility that should excite coaches.

Richter looks like he is well on his way to proving that he is a true three down LB. Against the run, Mason is aggressive, closes quickly, and has the length and strength to be able to keep blocks off of him. As a blitzer, Mason has the burst and speed to be able to hit gaps faster than most OL can react. What really sets Mason apart is his ability to play in coverage. Mason is a fluid mover in every direction, has the range to cover a wide zone, and does a good job of jumping throwing lanes to knock down or pick off passes. This is a must add to recruiting boards.
