PrepRedzoneWI lead scout Mark Johnson and I were lucky enough to get a look at Stoughton’s behemoth of an OT Griffin Rousseau while he was a young 8th grader at one of TheLine Showcase’s earliest events, and it was easy to tell he had a P5 ceiling and had the chance to be a heckuva player one day. Fast forward a few years and Rousseau is now a 6’7, 305 lb. upperclassman representing Wisconsin’s 2025 class well, and he’s seen those years of hard work pay off this fall. After his first offer rolled in in early June from Wisconsin-prospect-lovin’ Bart Miller and Bret Bielema from the Illinois Fighting Illini, Rousseau grabbed an offer from 2023 pleasant surprise performer Duke and is receiving a ton of attention from the likes of Minnesota, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Dartmouth, Ohio, and NDSU. The junior film will be a big reason more P5 offers come in, and the 6’7, 305 lber. is off to a solid start in 2023. The strength and physicality are the #1 most exciting things about his current resume as a prospect. He’s dominant at the contact point against all kinds of opponents, but there is a lot more to his game that should get a prospective college OL coach fired up. With a legit 6’7, 305 lb. frame with more room to fill in, Rousseau can bend pretty well in his stance for a 6’7 OT, is a vicious puller, and is quite comfortable getting out into space and breaking down to handle smaller opponents, which also translates to him working to the second level easily. He has noticeably and impressively powerful punch and is strong at the point of attack, possesses good leg drive once engaged, always works to finish, and sends opponents flying once he locks out and extends his arms. In addition to his run-blocking prowess, Rousseau has experience in pass pro and shows he can drop and gain depth to handle speedier rushes upfield. He’s balanced when adjusting laterally or in pass pro and is patient when timing up his punch. He already looks built for B1G ball and will see more offers roll in during what will be a fun junior season for the junior.

A must see prospect in the Class of 2025 is Stoughton’s left tackle, Griffin Rousseau Griffin Rousseau 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Stoughton | 2025 State WI . I have watched Griffin since he was in 8th grade. The development he has made over the past three years has been off the charts. He has filled out his 6’7″ 305 lbs frame with good, clean weight. Griffin is strong from base to hands, allowing him to clamp onto DL and remove them from the trenches in the run game. Griffin has made huge strides in his flexibility, showing consistently good knee and ankle flexion. He is a dancing bear in pass coverage, getting good depth in his pass set, and changing directions well to mirror pass rushers. Rousseau looked the part of an FBS level OL. He holds one offer from Illinois, more are sure to follow.

Came into summer camp szn: offerless
Now holds offers from: Illinois
Summary: PRzWI lead scout Mark Johnson and I got a sneak peek at 6’7, 295 lb. Stoughton OT Griffin Rousseau Griffin Rousseau 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Stoughton | 2025 State WI while he was an 8th grader at one of The Line Showcase earlier camps, when Rousseau’s older brother was in the midst of his recruiting process before committing to DII heavyweight MSU-Mankato. The hype was already set in motion for the younger brother, who, while still raw, had eye-catching size and a lunch-pail mentality that you knew he was going to get the most out of. Flash forward a couple of years and here we are, seeing Griffin Rousseau Griffin Rousseau 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Stoughton | 2025 State WI benefit from the 2023 camp szn and his performance at the famed Lindenwood mega camp, where he left with his first offer from B1G Illinois. Illinois OL coach Bart Miller loves him some Wisconsin boys, and both Miller and HC Bret Bielema loved what they saw in the 6’7, 295 lber. enough to offer an exciting B1G scholarship. Rousseau is still developing, but the P5-worthy size, strength at power at the point of attack, particularly as a run blocker, motor, nasty streak, and finishing ability are all hard to come by in his a young buck of his size. Plus, Stoughton High School has a tremendous lineage of successful OL the past decade, especially at the P5 level, so you bet your butt he’s going to be developed well and coached up, much to the excitement of his future college home. As with all Wisconsin-bred OL, keep a close eye on the Badgers as they keep tabs on Rousseau and his development.
