I’m pumped to see where one of the most productive ball hawks in the state over the past few years commits. He is going to be a great cherry on top of a 2025 recruiting class. I project Casey to play safety at the next level. He has the bigger frame at 6’3″ 180 lbs so you can trust him to be able to come downhill and make tackles vs the run or short passing game. Where he is really going to deliver returns is with his ball skills and with his instincts. Casey is at his best when he keeps the receivers in front of him and is able to read the QB. Something he would get to do all the time at safety. The senior does a great job of baiting QBs into bad throws and then becoming the receiver where he attacks the ball in the air at the high point. Somebody needs to swoop in and get this playmaker.

Another easy choice in this article is Casey Quam Casey Quam 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Stoughton | 2025 State WI and his ball skills. The uncommitted senior has 15 career interceptions. 4 this season and 10 coming in his junior season. The 6’3″ 180 lbs DB does a great job of tracking the ball in flight and getting in position where he can become the receiver and high point it. The senior does a great job of adjusting his body and timing his jumps. Plus he is a hands catcher who secures it with strong hands. This type of career production is a must for our Perfect DB.

Casey leads the way for all returning ball hawks in 2024. The CB has the perfect length for the position. Length that has allowed him to take risks in coverage. Risks that have led to turnovers. Casey excels in zone coverage, keeping everything in front of him, reading and then triggering downhill on the ball. He clearly has excellent ball skills, highlighted by his 10 INTs in 2023. Casey has range that also lets him take those risks jumping routes because he has solid recovery speed. The stud senior CB may not hit double digits in INTs again, but he will have a chance to once again push for the most in the state.

Right off the bat, Casey separates himself at the position with his elite length for a CB. He checks in at 6’3″ 180 lbs. It is one thing to have the size, but being able to move with it comfortably in space is another thing. Casey brings that to the field also. He can get depth quickly with his backpedal, his hips and feet are able to quickly flip and he can accelerate out of those changes of direction with just a couple steps. The junior also has a knack for being where the ball is and the hands to create turnovers off those opportunities. In zone the junior is able to read the QB and see the play develop allowing him to get in position to make plays. I’m excited to see how he performs this summer at camps.

Casey is an exciting prospect to know in the Class of 2025. He has a great base of traits to build on, elite length, and the production (10 INTs in 2023) that coaches will want to get to know. Besides that elite length, the first thing that jumps off the tape is how natural Casey’s hands are. He has soft hands that catch the ball away from his body. Also, his play in zone is impressive. He shows good awareness, is able to chang direction, and has the range needed to cover ground and jump passing lanes. Lastly, Casey has a strong knack for being able to put himself in position to make plays. I’m pumped to see his final season, and how he performs at camps this spring/summer.
