Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
This is my first look at Boggan, who has all the tools to see his recruitment take off. He comes in at a long, wiry 6’1 180, playing much longer than most other RBs. He is a fluid athlete who can maintain his speed while weaving, which is what he does to create yards. He plays with good contact balance and can snap off contact, which will only improve as he gets bigger. Whether or not he sticks at RB long-term is a question that will be answered naturally. Regardless, he is a tall, lean, fluid athlete, which will create the intrigue here.

Boggan thrives on timing and vision. He presses the line of scrimmage with patience before planting decisively. His one-cut ability is clean as he trusts what he sees then commits without hesitation.
At top speed, he can stack moves together, showing advanced footwork in the open field. He cuts off blocks sharply and accelerates through interior gaps. There’s efficiency in his stride that allows him to maximize creases without drifting laterally. Boggan has a repeatable – college friendly run style that keeps offenses efficient and on schedule.

Malik Boggan Malik Boggan 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB/WR Hoover | 2028 State AL is an impressive prospect out of Hoover who’s landed as our #8 RB/WR and #33 overall prospect in the state.
Boggan really impresses me at RB. He’s patient behind the line of scrimmage, plays with a ton of speed and twitch, and can make defenders miss for some explosive gains on the ground. On top of that, Boggan has the hands to create plays in the passing game, frequently getting open downfield and finding extra yards after the catch.
One of Boggan’s best traits is his vision. He can easily find rushing lanes both behind the line of scrimmage and in the open field, and does a great job waiting for and following his blockers so he can make the most out of every carry.
Boggan put together an impressive freshman season, ending the year with 600 yards and 10 TDs.
