Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Tutt is an explosive athlete off the edge with a quick first step that immediately puts pressure on blockers. His length helps him create separation and affect plays both in the backfield and down the line. I thought his closing speed stood out, especially with the way he could run plays down from behind. The production was strong in year 3 with 26 tackles, 13 TFL, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a safety. There’s still plenty of upside here, and he feels like a player who could become a later riser as more people get eyes on him.

Korey Tutt has big-time potential. The 6-foot-2, 235 pound prospect really shoots out of a cannon from his spot as an Edge. Very explosive, very twitchy prospect, a sudden mover who can dip his shoulder and turn the corner against opposing offensive lineman. Turn him loose off the edge and he can really wreck havoc on opposing QBs. Dangerous when free. Takes on double-team blocks, plays with great bend and leverage, and has the speed to turn the corner. Really like his motor and effort.

Korey is a very reliable pass rusher off the edge, showing the speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease on his way to the quarterback. He has also shown the ability to fight with his hands and use his bend to avoid blocks. Tutt does a great job of finishing at the quarterback, finishing his junior year with six sacks and 40+ quarterback pressures in 13 games. He also finished this past season with 26 tackles and seven tackles for loss. Korey currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky and Miami (OH), and I expect offers to keep piling up for him moving forward.

Tutt is a very impressive pass rusher off the edge. He explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles. Tutt has also shown the bend to dip under opposing tackles off the edge to avoid being blocked. He finished this past season with three sacks in 12 games. Tutt has also shown the ability to stop the run, finishing his sophomore year with 20 tackles and three tackles for loss. Korey should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next couple seasons.

is another edge defender who jumped onto our radar this past season. He was very impressive off the edge as a pass rusher as a sophomore. Tutt explodes out of his stance and uses his speed and bend to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease. He finished his sophomore year with three sacks and several quarterback pressures in 12 games. Tutt also proved to be reliable against the run, finishing the year with 20 tackles and three tackles for loss. Korey doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to watch as his role in the St. Xavier defense continues to grow.
