Jamari Carroll Jamari Carroll 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB St. Xavier | 2027 State KY is one of the fastest defensive backs in the state and can run a 40-yard dash in the 4.4s. In 2025, he ended the year with 54 Tackles (26 solo), seven pass breakups, a pair of interceptions, and one each of the following: fumble recovery, sack, and safety. In St. Xavier’s preseason scrimmage against Frederick Douglass earlier this month, Carroll broke up a pass, meeting the receiver as soon as the ball hit his hands to jar it free. He demonstrated his ability several times during his junior tape, and it looks like he’ll pick back up where he left off in 2026.

Carroll is a good safety with elite speed and the range to patrol the entire backend. He closes on the football in a hurry and comes flying downhill when he sees an opportunity to make a play. He’s capable of delivering some big hits and does a nice job attacking the football to force fumbles instead of just settling for the tackle. The speed also helps him avoid getting beat over the top, allowing him to erase mistakes and stay in position. He put up 54 tackles, 7 PBUs, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles in year 3. I’m really curious to see where he ends up because safeties with this kind of range and speed don’t come around all that often.

Jamari Carroll Jamari Carroll 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB St. Xavier | 2027 State KY is a speedy defensive back with the ability to disrupt any play from the safety position. He plays his man strong and is always aware of the quarterback. Carroll will take advantage of inaccurate throws, which is apparent in his seven pass breakups, to go with a pair of interceptions in 2025.

My final defensive standout from Round 2 of the playoffs in the state of Kentucky is Jamari Carroll Jamari Carroll 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB St. Xavier | 2027 State KY . Carroll played a key role in St. Xavier’s dominant win over Bullitt East last week’s. Jamari lined up at safety where he made an impact all over the field in the win. In coverage, he showed the ability to read the quarterback followed by the ability to break on the ball and make play, coming away with one interception. Carroll also showed the ability to fill the lane to provide run support, leading his team with five tackles. He also made a huge play on a botched snap on a punt, bursting into the backfield to tackle the punter and force a safety. Jamari is a player who will definitely be worth keeping an eye on throughout the rest of the playoffs and heading into his senior year. Carroll and the Tigers have an intriguing quarterfinal matchup ahead of them this week against Male.
