when it’s time to score. Two touchdown receptions against Archbishop Ryan, Epps, came up huge in a game decided by one score. Epps has six receptions through three games, with a modest 60+ yards under his belt. Epps is capable of more, yet he still leads the team in total touchdowns scored. Epps can explode for a hundred-yard game against anyone on schedule, don’t let the modest start fool you. Don’t get too comfortable throwing his way either if he’s aligned at DB.

I’ve shown many seniors, many underclassmen out of Cardinal O’Hara love. I feel as though I overlooked one special two-way player in WR/DB

. A wideout with a scary second-gear. Fantastic seperator after the catch is made. Acceleration skills are shown off on tape after witnessing Epps catch screens/slants and taking said routes the distance. 150 pounds soaking wet, not particularly cut-up, yet the kid boasts good hand-eye coordination, as well as the ability to snatch balls above defenders heads with ease. Can see the basketball player in him at times. Like his release off the LOS against off-coverage, usually shows an understanding of stemming, attacks leverage as early as possible, in a manner that should allow him to get open later in the route. Straightline speed is a plus, can expect Caridnal O’Hara to throw some jet-sweep action his way. If this kid finds a seam, a lane of open field, he could separate in a blink and end up in the endzone. Top 250 ranking, placed as an “ATH” for his equally impressive play at outside corner opposite

The Lions leading receiver this past Fall. John Welde John Welde 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Cardinal O'Hara | 2026 State PA ‘s go-to target. Epps reeled in 30 balls for a tick under 400 yards. Four of those 30 receptions went for scores. Epps also registered 34 tackles, 6 TFLs, 1 Interception and 9 PBUs. Safe to say that this young man was one of the more valuable prospects in a Lion uniform last Fall.
5’11, 150-pounds, two-way prospect who also participates on the court. To my knowledge the only junior to be named a captain. Can align comfortably outside the numbers, both at corner or at wideout. I like the attention to detail given to his release off the LOS. He’s often in a better position early in his routes, leading to separation later in routes. Good after the catch too, has some reps on tape where he’s flat-out making kids look silly. Epps will provide starting-quality reps at corner, yet I like his future projection to the offensive side of the football.
