Ke’Andre is a nightmare on the edge to defend. You can’t free release him when he’s on the backside because he has the speed to rapidly close on the ball in the backfield. The DE explodes off the line with instant power and acceleration. He has violent hands that are able to swipe aside OTs. The ’25 does an excellent job of getting hands on, creating separation and then shedding the block and pursuing the ball. McClendon also shows a high football IQ, finding the ball quickly and knowing where he needs to be and maintaining his gap/leverage. Get eyes on this mismatch in the trenches while he is still available.

McClendon is a 6’2, 245 lb edge rusher / defensive end out of East St. Louis. The Class of 2025 playmaker possesses all the intangibles that elite pass rushers have. He boasts a long frame, quick first step, and understands how to uses his hands to get off of blocks. McClendon’s size projects him as a stand up edge rusher at the next level. However, his tape also shows off his strength and ability to rush the passer and stuff the run from a 4i technique. His combination of speed, athleticism, and power make him a lethal threat when rushing the opposing quarterback. As McClendon heads into his senior year, look out for this game wrecker on Friday nights next fall.

This one is very surprising, but it looks like the 6’2″ 245 lbs DE is still no the hunt for his first offer. If his junior tape shows even more development from his sophomore tape Ke’Andre won’t be waiting much longer. The sophomore film shows a big strong prospect. While he doesn’t have the prototypical size for the DE position, McClendon does have long arms. The rising junior demonstrated over and over that he knows how to use that length and his hands to disengage and get into the backfield. His hands are heavy, and his rip and swim moves easily cleared the OL’s hands. The big man proved to have good lateral wiggle too to get around his opponents. Ke’Andre looks the part with his length, hand use, lateral quickness, and burst. This is an athlete to get your eyes on early and often.

. I’m as high on the 6’2, 245 lb. as anyone, and McClendon explodes into our Top-20 as the #19 overall ranked 2025er and the #8 defensive lineman. On a roster stacked to the brim with P5 and FBS talent, McClendon still holds his own and opens his sophomore tape with an explosive rep where he fires off the ball and past the waiting OT’s inside shoulder before they can get out of their stance, after which he absolutely destroys the waiting RB and into the QB before hitting the QB himself and knocking the ball loose where one of his teammates scoops & scores for a defensive tuddy. It’s good stuff, and he keeps it coming for the rest of the tape, displaying the perfect pass-rushing repertoire of power, bend, twitch, a great get-off, and active hands that helps him beat blocking attempts in a variety of ways and get into the backfield so quickly you’d think he came untouched. Most DEs I come across have one or two of the strengths McClendon possesses, but not the full combination I see on tape, so I’m very excited about the DEs future. He generally operates out of the 4i, 4, or 5T spots, but no gaps are off-limits for McClendon when he works around the LOS. That ESL roster is one of the best in the Midwest and they have a beast in the rising junior McClendon. That first offer can’t be far away.
