Kansas State landed a keeper in East St. Louis wide receiver Laron Baker Jr., who was hard to stop. ESL likes to use him in space, where his elusiveness, top-end juice and home-run threat ability present serious matchup problems. I love Baker’s vision and change-of-direction after the catch. He has great gear change in open space and knows when to turn it up a notch. I see him as an inside receiver who can be a serious playmaker on Saturdays.

Baker has flown up the board with a strong sophomore season and offseason. Absolutely electric with the ball in his hands and is a TD threat from anywhere on the field.

Baker has major juice on the outside! The East St. Louis 6’0″ 170 pound wide receiver has explosive speed. Clocked at a recent Under Armour camp with a 4.46 40 yard dash. Major vertical threat that blows past the secondary and tracks the ball very well downfield. Can also win on short routes and well as intermediate comebacks. Love how he drives the DB downfield then stops on a dime to make the catch. Shake with it in his hands after the catch. Precise route runner with outstanding body control.
