Time to dive into the best of the best when it comes to 2027 wide receivers in our latest rankings unveiling!

[player_tooltip player_id='432197' first='Quentin' last='Burrell'] (Mt. Carmel)

Burrell is one of the most gifted receivers the state has seen in several years. This past season for the Caravan he had 67 catches for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns. Also consider the fact that he was playing with three other big time pass catching options when looking at those numbers. What makes him special is his combination of speed, strength, body control, hands, and the ability to take the top off of the defense. His body control and tracking in the air are truly special for a prospect being able to make plays on go routes on a consistent basis! More than just a deep threat as he is adept at running various routes along with taking short routes and without breaking stride ripping off a long run. Also a impact return threat who we have seen take it to the house with ease and will bring this value at the next level!

[player_tooltip player_id='1335411' first='Ronnie' last='Gomiller'] (East St. Louis)

Gomiller emerged as the go to option for the Flyers this season. He is a big time punt returner with his ability to make guys miss in the open field as we saw him take a pair to the house against Belleville East. As good of a receiver as he is he might even be better as a returner. Slippery with the ball in his hands as he is good using shifty moves moving the chains. Snatches the ball out of the air over the middle. Silky smooth as a route runner that gets separation off the line with his quickness. Willing blocker downfield for the Flyers trio of backs. At the next level we see him as an elite slot guy that will be a game changer at the P4 level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1335408' first='Laron' last='Baker Jr.'] (East St. Louis)

Baker is a 6'0” wide out that has big time speed. He is more of the vertical threat for the Flyers that likes to get downfield with his ability to stretch. As a junior he flashed, but we would like to see more consistent production.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598846' first='Bennett' last='Konkey'] (Geneva)

Konkey is a 6'1” wide receiver that recorded 739 yards through the air this past season (348 yards of which were after the catch) on 41 grabs along with 9 touchdowns in 9 games. The consistent production game in and game out were what stood out the most to us. Very reliable pass catcher. Steady hands and finds the weak spot in the defense. Can go over the middle along with getting vertical on deep posts with his long strides.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275281' first='Duran' last='Sims'] (Mt. Carmel)

Sims was option #4 for the Caravan, but no doubt he is primed to be a FBS pass catcher at the next level. Quickness and speed play well out of the slot on bubble screens, passes over the middle, and has the ability to not lose his speed while catching it in traffic. Smooth route runner that makes guys miss in the open field for YAC.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196115' first='Lucas' last='Strang'] (Brother Rice)

The Brother Rice junior has solid size at 6'1” as he reeled in 20 catches for 369 yards and 7 touchdowns. Strang is a perimeter threat that has a big catch radius getting downfield for grabs where he tracks it well and has good body control.
