About Kaneal
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Kaneal made the most progress from his Junior to Senior year than anyone else in the state. His processing rate improved tremendously, he is excellent off platform and throws a good deep ball. He has a quick delivery and that allows him to throw from multiple platforms. He does a good job of leading his receivers open and throws with good velocity. He’s a dual threat signal caller who is an elusive runner. He is the best remaining available quarterback in the state.

Kaneal has been on a tear this season and one of the most improved players from a year ago. He’s deadly with his arm and legs and will be tasked to help lead Skyridge to a win against Lehi. If they can get him in rhythm early and get him on the run and away from pressure, it could be the recipe for success. If Skyridge can have prolonged drives and eat up the clock with short passes and use the Lehi aggressive defense against them, it can go a long way. If Kaneal can make all the key throws and run to keep them ahead of the chains, and limit the possessions that Lehi can have, it can result in a Skyridge win, and Kaneal is just the signal caller to do that and make the big plays when they arise.

Kaneal has been on a tear this season, and the offseason has proven beneficial. He’s seeing and processing better than he ever has, and he is a decisive passer. He will lead his receivers open, layer his throws, and has good velocity on his throws. He fits the ball into tight windows, and he is an excellent runner and will cause chaos on defenses. If they play a soft zone, he’ll pick apart a defense with his legs; if they bring a heavy box and have a spy, he’ll throw it over them. He’s made tremendous strides and will be a Power-Four commit.
