Griffin has had an excellent start to the season. He’s diagnosing plays quickly and blowing them up before they have a chance to develop into big plays. He is a physical backer, with good footwork and cover skills. He’ll look to keep his high level of play the rest of the season.

Kunz shows good speed, moves well athletically, is light on his feet, and has a good frame. He put that on display on Friday night and played exceptionally well. He does a good job of disengaging from his blocks and is a player that will be a key part of the Skyridge defense.

Kunz is an exceptional backer who has great instincts. He is explosive off the line, has good lateral quickness, can shed his blocks and disengage with ease, and has good closing speed. He is an all-around backer who can be used as an on-ball attacking rusher or drop back into coverage and disrupt passing lanes. He is primed for a fantastic season and continues to garner offers.

Kunz is an active backer who showcases great instincts for the position. He has great closing speed and motor to chase down a play from one side to the other. Kunz has a great feel for the game and is the heart and soul of his defense. He shows good power as a rusher and has a gap and lane integrity in run situations. Kunz has great instincts as a rusher and would fit nicely as an LEO which can be utilized on key passing situations where he can have his hands on the ground and rush the passer. Kunz is fantastic when it comes to taking on a bigger blocker and being able to shed that defender to get to the ball carrier. He is a player that erases a lot of mistakes on defense. Kunz is far from a liability in pass coverage, he has instincts to disrupt passes, swipe at the ball, and be a nuisance to the receiver. He has a nose for finding and being around the ball and is a playmaker for his defense. Kunz is a physical player but is also fundamentally sound as a tackler and showcases great technique as a rusher, a tackler. He is a premier Linebacker in the state with no glaring weakness in his game. Kunz is a versatile player, he has the talent and ability to play any of the backer positions and would be first team at any of those positions. He is an extension of the coach on the field and that in itself is the best praise you can give someone.
