Cannon is one of the biggest risers in our updated rankings. He is a signal caller with great arm talent and can dot the field. He is a quick processor and can layer his throws. He has good accuracy and is a signal caller that has all the makings to climb into the top 30. He has that kind of talent. I’d still make the argument that he would start at most 6A schools this upcoming season.

Cannon is an excellent signal caller and would start at the majority of 6A and 5A programs this year. He is a dual-threat signal caller with good arm talent and a high-level IQ. He isn’t afraid to take the deep shot, and he throws with good velocity. He is willing to wait in the pocket for his receiver to pass from one window to the next and will layer in his throws when necessary. Cannon is a true definition of a gunslinger and a fun prospect to watch.

Quarterback at Skyridge High School is a 5’10”, 165-pound athletic quarterback who proves to be an absolute handful for defenses when a play breaks down. Watching him operate, his best trait is easily his instinct to avoid the rush, effortlessly escaping the pocket to extend plays when the pressure gets home. Once he breaks contain, he is incredibly dynamic, fully capable of gashing a defense with his legs or making them pay with his arm on the run. He pairs that elite, dual-threat mobility with solid foundational footwork and decent arm strength to get the ball exactly where it needs to go. Going into his junior season, Tripp should be right in the thick of the mix to earn the starting quarterback position for the Falcons. If defenses cannot figure out a way to keep him contained in the pocket this fall, he is going to create constant headaches and generate a ton of explosive plays on the move.

Cannon was exceptional. He throws with good velocity and puts good torque on the ball. He throws with a good spin rate, and the ball effortlessly comes out of his hands. He has a compact throwing motion and has continued to impress all offseason. I’ve said this numerous times before, Cannon would start on most 6A teams, he has all the talent you want to see, and he’s even better in-game as he can use his legs to move around and create additional chaos.

Cannon has done a tremendous job each time I’ve seen him this offseason. He’s gained valuable reps, and he is a signal caller who would be starting over several 6A Quarterbacks if he decided to transfer schools. He’s a player I’ve seen in live game reps, and he’s better in that setting as he can use his legs to move around the pocket and further stress the defense. Cannon processes extremely well, has a compact delivery, and has good arm talent. He is a signal caller who will stay in the pocket and get to his second read, and he can scramble around to buy additional time for his playmakers to get open. He is arguably the best second-string signal caller in the state. He would start at 6A this year for several teams.

Cannon is perhaps the biggest kept secret in the state for the 2028 class of Quarterbacks. He’s a natural gunslinger who has a quick, compact delivery and does a good job throwing his receivers open and knowing when to throw with velocity and when to layer his throws. I’d argue that he would be starting at many 6A and 5A programs this upcoming season. The talent is there; he just needs an opportunity.

Cannon is an excellent prospect and has made waves this offseason. He’s made tremendous strides with his development and is a signal caller who could start at 6A programs this year. He is best in pads, where he can use his legs, but throughout the event, he showed his high IQ and quick processing. He fit the ball into tight windows and was playing with excellent confidence. He’s a player who could potentially be someone who is a sleeper in the class and could garner attention, should he find a pathway to start at a program.
