was just another weapon that opposing defenses had to account for, especially in the down field passing game.
An X-receiver with strong hands and ball skills, Hoeper was the type of target that could go up and get passes, but also completely make the defensive back in coverage look silly in their attempts to breakup those passes. Reaching toward the ball with long arms, Hoeper wasn’t one to allow opposing DBs to pop the ball out or swat it away at the last minute — if he got his hands on it, he was hauling the pass in.

While overlooked by the success of Kelley’s campaign,

has been just as important of a factor in the success for the Spartans’ passing game. Hoeper finished with 691 yards on 42 receptions (16.5 YPC) and 9 TDs. A more prevalent outside WR, Hoeper shows great footwork and high-point ability on vertical throws to catch the ball over the DB in stride, being able to consistently stretch the field with his prowess as a deep-threat. Hoeper is able to get off the line well, showing good hand-fighting ability to get off pressing DBs, showing fluidity in his change of direction on his routes, and while not as fast as Kelley, flashes great breakaway speed after the catch. Even with a change at QB for the Spartans in 2026, Solon boasts one of the strongest WR duos returning onto the field across Iowa for the 2026 season.

Hoeper got his feet wet as a sophomore on the varsity last season. During an in-person scout in Week 3 of the 2025 campaign, he was putting those lessons to good use. During a 35-20 victory against rival Mount Vernon, he caught three balls for 44 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he contributed a pair of solo tackles and was a key component in the Spartans slowing down a dangerous Mount Vernon passing attack. Hoeper operates fluidly on that side of the ball with the potential to be a well-rounded corner or safety capable of locking down in coverage and supporting the run. His frame and athleticism work well at receiver, too, where he can beat defenders in multiple ways. It’s up to colleges staffs to decide where they like him best, but he’s a next-level kid.
