‘s senior season has resulted in a jump in production from his junior campaign, but how much the Iowa legacy (the son of Aaron Kampman) has improved in just one season for Solon.
Last year, as the backup behind Ty Bell under center, Kampman finished the season with some time at quarterback in blowout wins for the Spartans while mostly playing wide receiver. Defensively is where the majority of his impact came, as the 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect posted 24.5 tackles and a 46-yard pick-six.
Now a senior, Kampman’s production on the offensive side of the ball has shot through the roof. So far this fall, he’s completed 69-of-103 passes (67%) for 1,121 yards, 14 touchdowns and just one pick. On the ground, he’s taken 54 carries for 246 yards and three scores. He currently ranks fourth in 3A in touchdowns, fifth in passing yards and TDs, second in passing yards per completion (16.2) and first in QB rating (201.3).
He’s still helping defensively, too. So far, along with 12 tackles, Kampman has a 26-yard pick-six, and he’s tied for the 3A lead in forced fumbles with two.

When I watched Kampman last season, he was lined up at cornerback and doing a nice job with it. Fast forward to the third week of 2025, and the senior was slinging it from behind center. The son of former University of Iowa standout and NFL All-Pro Aaron Kampman, Eli impressed with his command of the offense as a first-year starter. He completed 11 of 18 throws for 192 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions. Kampman also showed he can ding defenses with his legs. He entered this contest with just 39 yards on the ground but led the rushing attack with 119 yards, many of which came as the result of designed runs. Kampman has the size, athletic ability and arm to help plenty of programs on the next level. That he’s just scratching the surface of what he can become should make him even more attractive to college coaches.

finished Friday’s contest completing 15-of-25 passes for 272 yards and five touchdowns. One of the best passers in the state, Kampman throws a gorgeous deep ball and trusts each of his receivers to make a play on the ball when he throws it long. In the short and intermediate game, Kampman is an accurate passer that throws a tight ball and gets the ball to his receivers in space.
At DB, Kampman showed that he watches film, completely taking away one side of the field and seemingly knowing what was coming at all times when Assumption threw the ball.
