He can be a slippery route runner who can get open over the middle of the field, get behind second-level linebackers and be sneaky after the catch. In the return game, he displays good vision, patience and ability to follow blocks. In an overtime win against Liberty, he had four catches for 50 yards and 26 yards in the return game.

HE is an outstanding kick returner who displays good vision upfield, makes defenders miss and goes forward for positive yards. Butler is dynamic in space, and the team likes to use him in that fashion by getting him the ball on end-arounds where he can make plays. Butler has picked up offers throughout May including from Mercyhurst, Tiffin, Thomas More, Findlay, and most-recently, Wheeling.

JP had one of several good days for the Lions program. His separation was on point, and he impressed with his hands. JP is someone I could see impressing, and I was glad to see he was registered.

JP has been someone to watch for in Central Ohio for some time. He’s versatile and an athletic talent who excels with the ball in his hands. I want to see him do well in early testing, as he’s undersized and will need benchmark numbers to satisfy college coaches. If his testing is great and he pairs that alongside a 1v1 period where he finds himself getting open, he could be an MVP candidate at the wide receiver spot.
