Wyche had a strong senior year, running the ball 179 times for 1,431 yards and 22 touchdowns in 13 games. Journey has true breakaway speed which he used to burst through the running lane and run away from the defense on long runs. He is also a strong runner, showing the contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Wyche also played a role in the passing game, catching 11 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns, and also returned one kickoff for a touchdown this season. Journey is committed to UT-Chattanooga where I can see him developing into a key piece of their offense once he gets there.

He has been very impressive out of the backfield, finishing the regular season with 112 carries for 936 yards and 15 touchdowns. Wyche has explosive speed, showing the ability to burst through the running lane and simply run away from the defense. He has also shown impressive contact balance, showing the ability to break tackles in the open field without losing stride. Journey has also played a key role in the passing game, catching seven passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns so far. He is also an electric returner on special teams, returning one kickoff for a touchdown this season. Wyche currently holds offers from Bucknell, Wofford, UT Chattanooga, Youngstown State, Lindenwood, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber running back prospect.

This is a lot due to how talented Journey is at creating separation and juking past attempted tackles. Wyche, a 5’11 188lbs 2024 grad from Ballard High School had an impressive 2022 season. In 14 games, he ran for 938 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns off 113 carries (8.3 rushing yards per carry).  One of the best running back prospects in the state at creating separation solely with his shifty play, Journey is an exciting player to watch every time he steps foot on the field. Along with his amazing lateral quickness and footwork, Wyche can also break the defense with his speed. Even with a narrow running lane, Journey can break through the gap, and nobody is going to be able to catch him to the endzone. Currently, Journey has received a few D1 offers, and I expect more will come through to him by the end of this current 2023 season.
