Jones, committed to Cincy, has been a favorite of mine in the 2027 class dating back for a couple of years. He is a smaller OL prospect who plays with perfect compensators, such as his “destructive and tenacious” playstyle that impresses his coaches. He played both ways last fall and is a four-year starter up front, making him a veteran leader and someone to lean on.
Jones, who is committed to play at Cincy, will anchor the offensive front this fall for North Gwinnett. Jones has always had no problem tossing around and toying with defenders, even as his mass was still coming along. Now, that part of his game has only grown with him. He has plenty of pop off the line as a run blocker and will punch defenders in the mouth. He runs his feet hard at contact and remains physical throughout the rep. He is a true IOL, possibly C projection, who can carve out space in the middle of the front.
One of the top sleeper offensive linemen in Gwinnett County, Jones is a lean, physical left tackle who fired off the ball and plays with good leverage in the run game. He may not be the biggest or heaviest left tackle in his class, but he shows last year he’s absolutely capable of playing at the next level. The 6-foot-2 275-pounder earned a new offer recently from Toledo and could see more come his way over the next several weeks. He’s plan, talented, and should be one of the top left tackles in the region and across Gwinnett County next fall as a senior.
An under the radar two-way lineman in Gwinnett County to keep a close eye on next year, Jones was a consistent left tackle on offense and a dependable defensive tackle last season as a junior for the North Gwinnett Bulldogs. A lighter offensive tackle at 6-foot-2 270-pounds, Jones plays bigger than his size who uses leverage and mobility to his advantage. He moves well for his size and still has enough strength to overpower defenders in the run game. Defensively, the playmaking defender made 21 tackles and an impressive 10 tackles behind the line of scrimmage to go along with four sacks. It’s not easy to play on both sides of the line of scrimmage in Gwinnett County, but Jones made it look easy. He holds several D1 offers including UNLV, Colorado State, App State, Cincinnati, among others.
