I saw Ford last spring, and it looked like he turned a corner in the fall. There’s so much to like here. He is a long, versatile, violent player who flies around the yard. He certainly has the length to hold his own at corner, but I think an eventual move to safety is in store, and his coaches wouldn’t be shocked to see that long-term as well. It’s fun to watch his downhill, attacking brand of football. He is firmly on the FBS radar.

Ford jumped on my radar last spring, and since then, his recruitment has been on a rocket ship that has surpassed over 2 dozen offers. He had a pretty ridiculous year against the ball as a junior, totaling over 20 PBUs and adding 4 INTs. He is a big corner with the size and length to get physical, but he is best working with cushion. He mirrors receivers beautifully at the top of routes, flashing the footwork and ability to decelerate and drive on the ball. He is sticky in coverage, so I think he will stick at corner long term.

An instinctive cornerback with quick feed, fluid hips and strong hands, Ford made a big impact last fall as a sophomore for one of the biggest programs in the state. Playing against outstanding competition week after week, Ford showed that he can make plays in coverage while being a dependable run defender. His best football is way ahead of him and he has a chance to fly up the rankings in the 2027 class. He earned a new offer this week from Yale and should see more come his way over time.
