Johnson wasn’t asked much Saturday to be in coverage as Liberty Center ran the ball 38 times compared to attempting only 18 passes, with most coming on the final drive. His big moment in the game came on a huge play to knock the ball loose with under 3 minutes left on their own 33-yard line, effectively closing down any chance Liberty Center had to win the game. His athleticism and length pose a problem for teams when he is both playing coverage and closing down on runs. Although he didn’t play much coverage Saturday, his performance from the limited snaps faced and his overall rush defense was special to watch.
