Kayden is the starting quarterback many expect to see for the Fighting Tigers. He is explosive as a runner and is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He has previous starting experience as a freshman, and has gotten reps throughout the years in the many blowouts Ironton has been apart of. He also plays safety, and his athleticism shines in the secondary. He has good play recognition and is quick to break on balls his way.

leading Ironton to a state championship. Edwards is an athlete in the backfield and poses a threat at all levels. He was utilized as a receiver and a ball-carrier, achieving notable success. As a passer, he can launch the ball vertically and has made several significant plays through the air. He has an explosive release and aims to combine it with his elite mobility. The sky is the limit for both Edwards and Ironton in 2025.
Edwards isn’t just an elite quarterback he’s an elite athlete. He pushed his way on the field as a freshman because of his high-end athleticism. Not only did Kayden see time at quarterback, but he also saw time at cornerback and on special teams as a returner. All of that being said Edwards highest ceiling is as a big-time quarterback prospect. Even as a freshman he shows the ability to win from the pocket and out of structure. He has a good feel and accuracy on the short timing throws. He has the ability to drive the ball down the field into windows. Kayden has the ability to use his athleticism to extend plays and move the pocket as he’s comfortable throwing on the run. He currently holds a handful of G5 offers and a P4 offer from West Virginia. I expect that P4 list to grow this offseason.
Edwards looks like a special athlete that coaches should take a look at early for the class of 2027. In fact, in my opinion, he’s a prospect that should get an offer early in the process. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound multi-sport athlete checks a lot of boxes physically. Has a lean, muscular build and runs a 4.62 in the forty yard dash. Has already started to receiver some college attention, namely an invite to the Eastern Kentucky University spring game. Look for him to do special things as a Quarterback Ironton High School in Ohio over the next four years.
