Johnny showed off some jackrabbit looking instincts in his athleticism at the Augustana prospect camp a couple weeks ago. I believe when you wind up Johnny’s tape the in-person evaluation shows more juice in this kid’s game speed than you see on tape. Johnny is a swiss-army knife on both sides of the ball, and shows some well-balanced football IQ for wherever he is on the field. As a 2024 athlete, Johnny’s best next-level fit to me looks as a strong safety, as his combination of skillsets in pass and run coverage sticks out as an asset that can develop with his ball-tracking ability but still has some sideline to sideline athleticism to see the field strongly with his vision. Johnny is another prospect on this list. He will certainly entice some small school college football programs this fall, as Johnny is trending towards a big senior season for the Chargers. Twitter
