-Winter OL MVP

Rowan won OL MVP at last winter’s showcase in Aberdeen and although didn’t get the nod this time around, he still showed off a 1st Team All-Camp team performance last Saturday in Sioux Falls. He surely showed that he’s taken a step forward since last winter with the growth of his agile movement with his footwork, as I thought from the live eval that Rowan was even quicker setting his feet. He showed off the persistent violent hands on every rep that we got to watch and his ability to constantly drive leverage with great pad-level is another area where I feel Rowan took a step up. He moved up our 2028 South Dakota rankings for a reason, and he showed why we have him as our OL4 in the class as one of the biggest stockrisers in that class in the recent update.

We have to start with our OL MVP from our winter showcase in Aberdeen, which came from Sioux Falls Christian offensive linemen Rowan VanderStowe, who was one of our most massive stockrisers we had in the last 2028 South Dakota rankings update. He has some of the best strength in his hands we’ve seen come thru our showcase series over the last handful of years and has smooth hand technique and pad-level. He’s consistent getting into the second level and I’ll surely have a front row seat to see if Rowan can pull off back to OL MVPs at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase.

Another MVP that came thru our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase this winter, is another one that we will pull off the watchlist into the rankings is Sioux Falls Christian’s Rowan VanderStouwe Rowan VanderStouwe 6'0" | 260 lbs | OL/DL Sioux Falls Christian | 2028 State SD . You talk about menacing strength in the hands? Rowan showed those off viciously at our showcase in Aberdeen this winter. He mixes in a great pad-level that never seems to get off balance with his hands during our live evals and college coaches have to love the motor that this young man has to finish off his blocks with the blue-collar type power you want in your offensive trenches.

Rowan logged a ton of reps in the offensive line group and I was convinced that each rep he got better and better and took home the OL MVP in the end. He was highly effective in pass-protection reps, as I came away impressed with how well in tune he was with his footwork when he set his base. Rowan showed off very quickly, that he had some of most violent hands in the offensive line group landing a handful of pancakes that got defensive linemen on the turf while also showing off the sound pad-level in those reps I watched. Our offensive line MVP surely will be a watchlist to rankings target to watch for at powerhouse Sioux Falls Christian as he surely is not done developing in my eyes with two more years coming as a starter under his belt with the chargers.

Rowan was a 2028 offensive linemen that had some college coaches and myself, in awe of the frame he already has at his disposal as one that immediately caught our attention from the eye test alone. A constant competitor already this off-season in the Chargers weight room, Rowan showed off the barrelling strength and developing leverage he can grasp in the reps I got to watch in Aberdeen at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. He has some growth to be made improving his agile footwork but the work ethic this young man showed in the reps I watched shows off great upside as a 2028 OL prospect that my gut tells me with keep putting the work in from the longevity perspective. Rowan showed to me, he belongs on our 2028 rankings board incoming.
