One of my favorite 2028s in attendance not only on the defensive side of the ball, but probably overall in the Mount Rushmore State at the USF Prospect Camp was DB2 Darieion Smith of Sioux Falls Christian. His elusive movement didn’t take long to show off during the live eval on Friday night and the testing numbers Darieion Smith tell the tale with how well-rounded he was athletically. He went 2.67 in the 20-yard sprint, 4.28 in the pro agility, nearly 35′ in the vertical, and a 9’4 broad jump as well. He paints as a cornerback at the next-level as the quick trigger I noted during camp that Darieion could get down to the ball with how sudden he was surely show why we had him as one of the best DBs in the state in the 2028 class. Surely has a opportunity to push for that #1 spot in the DB group with his junior season upcoming.
